GEAR UP Graduation Coordinator

As a Graduate Assistant at Sylvania, you will be responsible for supporting the GEAR UP program in Rochester. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team that is passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals. Our team is committed to providing individualized support to students from low-income families, first-generation college students, and marginalized students.
Some key responsibilities of this role include:
- Supporting the implementation of the GEAR UP plan by assisting the GEAR UP Advisor with responsibilities such as student support services and case management.
- Connecting with students consistently to encourage and assist in graduation planning objectives.
- Assisting students with goal setting, including helping them identify and communicate their interests to create appropriate goals.
- Providing support to ensure students have access to college and career research and planning tools.
- Mentoring and advising students and families on academic success, postsecondary readiness skills, and post-high school planning.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will also assist with field trip logistics and planning. We are looking for someone who is computer savvy, with proficiency in email, Google Sheets, and Google Docs. The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
