Job Title: Accounts and HR Co-ordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to excel as a key member of our HR team, playing a vital role in helping our business succeed.

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and proactive HR professional to advise and support our Building and Real Estate Division. You will assist management in the delivery and implementation of the HR strategy to drive business plans forward. Establishing relationships with key stakeholders, where you are the trusted 'go-to' person for HR advice, thus promoting a positive ER culture within the business, while minimising risks.

This role requires the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and involves driving to sites across the UK. A full driving licence, valid in the UK, is necessary, and a car allowance will be provided. This will be supported by a range of great company benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working closely with Managers in an advisory capacity to ensure that policies are fairly and consistently applied, particularly, absence, discipline, grievance, performance, and capability.
  • Delivering commercial and pragmatic advice in line with company policy and employment law.
  • Managing own workload, keeping the HR Business Partner fully informed, and escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Supporting the business with people matters, including but not limited to, employee engagement, well-being, recruitment, retention, CSR, talent, and succession.
  • Supporting SOCOTEC projects as required by the business strategy.
  • Responding to queries promptly, consistently, and reliably.
  • Attending formal meetings at SOCOTEC sites, advising on policy, assessing risk, and producing comprehensive notes.
  • Working closely with the HR Shared Service team to deliver an accurate and efficient HR and Pay administration service by ensuring compliance with SOCOTEC policies and deadlines within appointed business units.
  • Promote HR best practice within SOCOTEC.
  • Minimise risk at all times.
  • Support the achievement of all HR Key Performance Indicators, such as absence and turnover.
Requirements:
  • CIPD level 5 (desirable)
  • Full driving licence
  • GCSE English and Math (or equivalent) (desirable)
  • Demonstrable experience of effectively managing a varied case load with multiple and changing priorities.
  • Good knowledge of ACAS best practice and employment law.
  • Ability to influence others.
  • Willingness to maintain own professional knowledge and skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Competent in the use of a range of IT systems, including Microsoft Office packages, and HR Systems.
  • Experience of operating effectively in a multi-site environment.
  • Experienced gained within a testing and compliance industry.
