About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Urban Designer to join our team in the England South Region. As a key member of our Design and Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality designs that support the effective delivery of our programmes and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of urban design projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with urban designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective design solutions.
  • Manage and coordinate the design process, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Represent Sustrans at meetings with local authorities, external clients, and other stakeholders, promoting our vision for liveable cities and towns.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community groups, local authorities, and other partners.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in urban design, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of urban design principles, transportation planning, and public space design.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
