Job Title: Locum Consultant in Microbiology

Medacs Healthcare is seeking an experienced Consultant in Medical Microbiology to join our team at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Medical Microbiology to provide expert advice and guidance on the management of patients with infectious diseases. As a key member of the hospital's infection control team, you will be responsible for supervising the running of the diagnostic laboratory and ensuring the delivery of prompt and accurate test results for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide complex advice to healthcare professionals on the guidance and management of patients with infectious diseases.
  • Make clinical decisions involving the analysis, interpretation, and comparison of complex data.
  • Supervise the day-to-day operation of the diagnostic laboratory.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours advisory service on infection diagnosis and management.
  • Work with the infection control team to investigate and prevent communicable diseases in the community.

Requirements:

  • Be a GMC registered Doctor.
  • Have relevant experience at Consultant level.
  • Hold evidence of stand-alone Right to Work in the UK.
  • Pass an enhanced background check (DBS).
