Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to lead its charity development efforts. As the Head of Charity, you will play a critical role in shaping and developing the vision and strategy for the charity, as well as driving fundraising initiatives to support patients and staff.
Main Responsibilities- Lead Fundraising Activities: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to maximize charitable income and meet agreed financial targets.
- Build Relationships: Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, corporate partners, and charity leads in neighboring trusts.
- Develop the Charity Brand: Design and implement a strategy to develop the Trust Charity brand and corporate experience, making it the preferred partner of choice for the donor community.
- Manage Capital and Revenue Appeals: Design, implement, and manage capital and revenue appeals in support of major charity build projects, in association with appointed consultants.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure all fundraising activities are conducted in full compliance with charity law, fundraising legislation, and best practice, data protection, and compliance.
- Communications and Reporting: Develop and implement a Trust Charity communications plan, which involves both internal and external communications to facilitate the efficient working of the Charity. Publish an annual impact report, monthly management accounts, and quarterly financial reports to the Charitable Appeal Committee.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with the Clinical Divisions, key departments, and individuals within the Trust to build a good understanding of local healthcare delivery issues, priorities, and plans.
- Proven experience in charity development, fundraising, or a related field.
- Excellent communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to design and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
- Strong relationships-building skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of charity law, fundraising legislation, and best practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Clinical Divisions, key departments, and individuals within the Trust.
