Lead the Vessel Agent Team

As a Vessel Agent Team Leader at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in providing in-house agency/husbandry services to our group vessels. Your key objective will be to ensure that all activities related to vessel calls are fulfilled, the needs of the Master and crew are met in a safe and timely manner, and all port and legal requirements are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including UK immigration laws, HMRC regulations, IMO rules, and local port bylaws.
  • Provide arrival and departure information on crew and passengers to relevant authorities.
  • Ensure vessel clearance and onward voyage compliance, booking berths as necessary, and reporting CERS (article 7 of reg /4).
  • Request crew change repatriation with UKBA and issue Letters of Guarantee.
  • Clear customs for cargo with UK Customs to ensure cargo can be loaded or discharged from the vessel.
  • Allocate berths to group vessels based on technical knowledge of the fleet and berthing situation.
  • Arrange pilot and towage for safe vessel movement, liaising with relevant stakeholders as needed.
  • Arrange provision of stores, fuel, and spare parts for the vessel prior to arrival and during port stay.
  • Complete "Statement of Fact" and "Port Costs" and approve invoices to DA account.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in vessel agent/husbandry role.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Good knowledge of customs clearance and export/import procedures.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Able to work unsocial and flexible hours to meet vessel requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge of local agencies and regulatory authorities.
  • Knowledge of UK Immigration rules for seafarers.
  • Knowledge of UK HMRC T1 ship spares procedures.
