Vessel Agency Team Leader Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Vessel Agency Team Leader to join our team in Southampton. As a key member of our Vessel Agency team, you will be responsible for leading the team in providing in-house agency/husbandry services to our Group vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Vessel Agency team and assign tasks where necessary.
  • Ensure all activities of the vessel call are fulfilled, and the needs of the Master and crew are delivered in a safe and timely manner.
  • Abide by all port and other legal requirements.
  • Act as an Ambassador for the business at all times by acting as a mentor/guide and setting a good example to others.
  • Monitor vessel movements via various means, including direct contact with the Vessel Master.
  • Allocate berths in principle to Group vessels based on technical knowledge of the fleet and berthing situation in Southampton.
  • Liaise with the Port to ensure safety and commercial expectations are met.
  • Arrange Pilot and Towage to ensure the safe movement of the vessel.
  • Continually review the cargo operation and advise relevant parties of any delays.
  • Facilitate the crew change and assist any visitors to and from the vessel.
  • Arrange provision of stores, fuel, spare parts, drinking water, or any other requirements for the vessel prior to arrival or during the port stay.
  • Act as the local Point of Contact for the vessel, including day-to-day matters and in the event of emergencies.
  • Check and customs clear Cargo with UK Customs to ensure all cargo can be loaded/unloaded to/from the vessel.
  • Submit maritime statistics to HMRC.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Vessel Agency Team Leader/Husbandry role.
  • Knowledge of UK Immigration rules for seafarers.
  • Knowledge of UK HMRC T1 ships spares procedures.
  • Good knowledge of customs clearance.
  • Good knowledge of export/import procedures.
