About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accredited Senior Clinical Coder to join our team at Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of coded data, working independently and using their initiative to meet national clinical coding standards.

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical coder who is passionate about delivering high-quality data and is eager to contribute to the success of our team.

The role offers a flexible working pattern, with the option to work on-site, remotely, or hybrid, and is suitable for a candidate who is self-motivated and able to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure clinical data is entered onto the Trust's information system for every episode of inpatient care within an agreed timeframe from discharge.
  • Ensure adherence to national procedures and guidelines for clinical coding.
  • Work under pressure to meet local/national deadlines.
  • Liaise with medical staff on queries relating to clinical information and case notes.
  • Attend all nationally and locally required training for the use of ICD10 and OPCS4 coding standards.

Person Specification
  • Educated to 5 GCSE's at grade C or above.
  • A level Biology or equivalent work experience.
  • Willing to attend all necessary training sessions and clinical coding workshops.
  • Good understanding of the rules of clinical coding.
