Clinical Vascular Scientist

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Vascular Scientist to join their team in the Vascular Laboratories. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing diagnostic vascular ultrasound services to the Gloucestershire and Swindon vascular network.
Main Responsibilities:
- Performing and reporting vascular ultrasound scans
- Managing the patient workload on a daily basis
- Participating in research, audit, and teaching
- Supervising trainee vascular scientists
- Assisting with administrative duties and operational running of the department
Requirements:
- AVS or equivalent Vascular Ultrasound qualification
- Advanced knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and understanding of vascular surgical treatment options
- Knowledge of the principles of quality assurance in vascular ultrasound services
- Substantial experience in vascular ultrasound
About the Department:
The Vascular Laboratory team works closely with seven Vascular Consultants, Consultant Radiologists, Vascular Access Nurse Specialists, Vascular Surgical Care Practitioners, and Vascular Nurse Specialists. The department is well-equipped with ultrasound machines and uses an electronic reporting system.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vascular ultrasound, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team. They will be required to provide safe, effective, and timely diagnostic vascular ultrasound services within the Gloucestershire and Swindon vascular network.
