Job Title: Clinical Vascular Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Vascular Scientist to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and reporting on a wide range of vascular ultrasound examinations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Performing and reporting vascular ultrasound scans
  • Managing the patient workload on a daily basis
  • Participating in research, audit and teaching
  • Supervising trainee vascular scientists
  • Assisting with administrative duties and operational running of the department

Requirements:

  • AVS or equivalent Vascular Ultrasound qualification
  • MSc in ultrasound related subject
  • State registered Clinical Scientist

Key Skills:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own work
  • Ability to understand and use complex equipment
  • Knowledge of hospital imaging and electronic patient management systems

Working Environment:

The department provides a specialist diagnostic vascular ultrasound imaging service for the Gloucestershire and Swindon vascular network. The main modalities include extracranial carotid and vertebral assessment, peripheral upper and lower limb arterial and venous examinations, bypass graft and post-EVAR surveillance, vein stent surveillance, fistula assessment, and treadmill testing.
