Job Title: Steelwork Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Steelwork Design Engineer to join our team at Segula Technologies. As a Steelwork Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality steelwork platform designs that meet the Eurocode3 and other relevant codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop steelwork platforms that meet the required specifications and codes.
  • Liaise with the building layout and piping teams to ensure seamless coordination and integration.
  • Maintain and implement QA procedures to ensure the highest quality of steelwork designs.
  • Work closely with CAD designers to prepare design drawings and models.
  • Manage engineering changes and ensure they are implemented in accordance with company procedures.
  • Resolve technical issues and ensure that all designs are accurate and compliant.
  • Receive, analyze, and verify input data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Produce deliverables such as assumption notes, technical specifications, and calculation notes.
  • Coordinate CAD design activities and ensure that all designs are up-to-date and compliant.
  • Perform design activities for fastenings and anchorages in concrete.
  • Develop substantiation reports and maintain surveillance of applicable technical documents.
  • Perform technical verifications of civil engineering documents.
  • Responsible for anchorage design activities and maintaining the Design Risk Register.
Requirements:
  • Experience in using 3D modeling and structural analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of PWRs and relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering.
  • Knowledge of Eurocodes related to civil engineering, particularly design of fastenings and anchorages in concrete.
  • Knowledge of design of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures.
