Job Title: Steelwork Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Steelwork Design Engineer to join our team at Segula Technologies. As a Steelwork Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality steelwork platform designs that meet the Eurocode3 and other relevant codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop steelwork platforms that meet the required specifications and codes.
  • Liaise with the building layout and piping teams to ensure seamless coordination of the design.
  • Maintain quality assurance procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality steelwork designs.
  • Work with CAD designers to prepare design drawings and models.
  • Manage engineering changes in line with company procedures.
  • Resolve technical issues and ensure the delivery of high-quality designs.
  • Receive, analyze, and verify input data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Produce deliverables such as assumption notes, technical specifications, and calculation notes.
  • Coordinate CAD design activities.
  • Perform design activities for fastenings and anchorages in concrete.
  • Develop substantiation reports and complete surveillance of applicable technical documents.
  • Perform technical verifications of civil engineering documents.
  • Create and maintain the Design Risk Register.
  • Responsible for anchorage design activities.
Requirements:
  • Experience in using 3D modeling and structural analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering, particularly knowledge of the design of fastenings and anchorages in concrete.
  • Knowledge of the design of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering would be advantageous.
