About the Role

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and caring individual to support teachers and pupils in all aspects of school life. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students with special educational needs (SEN) to access teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide whole class, small group, and one-to-one support to encourage and develop skills in students with SEN.
  • Work with a dedicated and dynamic team to support pupils in accessing teaching and learning.
  • Support teachers in planning and delivering lessons to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • A good standard of general education, including Maths and English.
  • Experience working with children with SEN is advantageous.
  • A willingness to undertake further training to develop knowledge, skills, and understanding of how to work effectively with pupils with diverse needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
  • A good level of personal fitness and good health to engage with students.
