Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team within the Transformation Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and senior medical input to the Old Age Liaison Service based in Hull Royal Infirmary.

The post holder will need to be flexible, visionary, and have excellent interpersonal skills to engage with patients and carers, as well as develop professional working relationships with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To act as RC for patients over the Age of 65 detained to the Acute Hospital under the mental health act
  • To offer specialist advice, consultation, and training to Primary Care, Secondary Mental Health Care, and Acute Teaching Hospitals
  • To liaise with colleagues to provide patient-centred care, effective joint working, and risk management

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the GMC
  • MRC Psych UK or equivalent post-graduate qualification
  • Specialist Register or Specialty Trainees within 6 months of completing their CCT within Older Age Psychiatry

About the Role:

This is a full-time position with 5 SPAs as standard, and we would be flexible in looking at enhancements to support other activities that align with the Trust's wider ambitions.
