Job Overview

Arm is seeking a highly skilled Principal Performance Modelling Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Systems group, you will be responsible for leading the technical direction of our performance modelling team, developing and using C++ based performance models of micro-architecture, and mentoring junior engineers to help them grow and become deep experts in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical direction of the performance modelling team, developing and using C++ based performance models of micro-architecture.
  • Engage with hardware design engineers to prune the design space of next generation products, understanding performance opportunities on current IPs like interconnect, SMMU and AI accelerators.
  • Investigate potential micro-architectural improvements in both IP and sub-system.
  • Support and mentor other specialists, sharing your technical expertise and experience.
  • Communicate and align activities related to integration, methodologies, strategies, etc. with other IP performance modelling teams across the world.
Requirements
  • Good university degree in electronic engineering or computer science.
  • Leading IP or system performance modelling teams, or technical expert in performance modelling.
  • Understanding of IP modelling environment.
  • Experience of functional or performance modelling of CPUs or other IPs.
  • Proficiency in C, C++ or SystemC.
Nice to Have
  • Strong software development experience, including design specification, coding, testing, and debugging.
  • Experience with RTL and SystemC simulators.
  • Experience of exploring and evaluating ideas and performance related to IP or systems architecture.
  • Familiarity with Arm architectures and instruction sets.
  • Experience of Unix development environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and capacity to work efficiently with local and remote teams.
