Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work with our client school in Horncastle.

Job Summary:

The Higher Level Teaching Assistant will provide high-quality support to teachers and pupils across the primary phase, including delivering lessons, supervising classes without the teacher, and providing targeted support to individual and small groups of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in conducting classes and delivering pre-planned lessons as a High Level Teaching Assistant.
  • Support students in their learning activities by providing guidance and assistance.
  • Assist in planning and preparing teaching materials and resources.
  • Contribute to assessing and monitoring students' progress.
  • Maintain essential records of student progress and interventions.
  • Implement diverse strategies to effectively address each student's individual needs.
Requirements:
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification is needed.
  • Prior experience as a HLTA is beneficial but not required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with teachers and support staff.
  • Strong understanding of educational principles and best practices.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
