About the Role

The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of medical professionals, and contributing to the development of our emergency medicine services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert medical care to patients in the emergency department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Lead a team of medical professionals, including junior doctors and nurses, to ensure seamless patient care and efficient department operations.
  • Contribute to the development of our emergency medicine services, including the implementation of new policies and procedures, and the evaluation of existing ones.
  • Participate in educational activities, including teaching and training of junior doctors and medical students.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced medical qualifications and experience in emergency medicine.
  • Excellent clinical and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education.
