We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as a Professor/Reader in Geotechnical Engineering at Imperial College London. The successful candidate will have a strong research background and a proven track record of delivering impactful research projects in geotechnical engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, resource, and direct an original and impactful research programme in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Conduct research projects on your own and develop collaborative projects with other members of the Department and College and with external collaborators.
  • Contribute to undergraduate and taught postgraduate teaching in soil mechanics/geotechnical engineering.
  • Provide evidence that your research can contribute to addressing the challenges of delivering low carbon energy, mitigating the risks posed by climate change, contributing to develop sustainable resilient infrastructure, or addressing the UN sustainable development goals.
Requirements
  • A PhD (or equivalent) in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
  • An established national reputation and developing international reputation (international reputation and expertise at Professor level) in the field of geotechnical engineering.
  • Evidence of your ability to contribute to undergraduate and taught postgraduate teaching in soil mechanics/geotechnical engineering.
  • An excellent record of research evidenced by a portfolio of research publications confirming national/international standing (commensurate with career stage).
