Cardea Healthcare is a specialist healthcare recruitment agency providing home care services in the community. We are currently recruiting for dedicated and compassionate individuals who will be working with a variety of clients including elderly, end-of-life, and learning disabilities.

Job Summary

The main responsibilities of the role are to support individuals living within their own homes to be as comfortable and safe as possible. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality of care possible to those who need it most. Our team cares for a variety of individuals including those who are elderly/frail, physical disabilities, palliative illnesses, and end-of-life care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Empower clients to lead an independent lifestyle through support and encouragement
  2. Provide full-time companionship and conversation
  3. Prepare and cook meals
  4. Assist with light domestic tasks and general household duties such as cleaning, bed making, laundry, and ironing
  5. Accompany clients to appointments, social engagements, and errands such as shopping
  6. Care for pets
  7. Communicate with family, friends, and other healthcare professionals on behalf of clients
  8. Work towards agreed outcomes for the service user which may include social inclusion or teaching of life skills
Personal Care
  1. Assist with washing, bathing, showering, and oral care
  2. Dress and prepare clients for the day
  3. Manage toileting and continence
  4. Assist with eating
  5. Administer or prompt with medication
  6. Use moving and handling equipment (after training) if a client is unable to mobilise on their own
  7. Work closely with other care professionals such as District Nurses and GPs
  8. Assist clients with their nighttime routine, including undressing and washing
  9. Record and report
Requirements
  1. At least 6 months care experience
  2. Ideal candidate has a Driving Licence and access to their own Vehicle
  3. Up-to-date DBS
  4. Full UK drivers' licence
