Rent Arrears Recovery Officer - Temporary Accommodation

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Rent Arrears Recovery Officer to join our team in providing a professional rent income collection and recovery service in accordance with legislation and customer satisfaction requirements.

About the Role:

As a Rent Arrears Recovery Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring rent accounts of up to 1000 residential council properties and taking appropriate action to identify and manage rent arrears in accordance with the rent arrears pre-action protocol and the Council's arrears recovery procedure.

This includes assisting tenants in financial difficulty and signposting them to support services to help them sustain their tenancy and improve their quality of life as a resident of Kingston.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage rent accounts to prevent and recover rent arrears
  • Provide customer-focused support to tenants in financial difficulty
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective rent income collection and recovery
  • Develop and maintain relationships with tenants, stakeholders, and external partners
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in a similar role or in a customer-facing environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of rent arrears recovery procedures and legislation
