Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge power-to-fuel machine. This machine is designed to be powered entirely by utility-scale solar energy and is a key component of our business plan to decarbonize heavy industry.
Key Responsibilities- Design and build testing infrastructure at increasingly larger scales (10 kW - 100 kW - 1 MW) to accelerate performance and longevity testing across all 3 systems.
- Design and build thermal and fluid management solutions to integrate all balance of plant operations, maximize heat recovery and integration across the RNG, and achieve low-cost and robust flow control.
- Design and build control systems to maximize plant productivity with a varying solar input, optimize H2 and CO2 production to maximize CH4 production rate, and ensure complete and robust autonomous operation.
- 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Experience in chemical reactor, direct-air-capture, or electrolyser design and build, or related fields.
- Execution history: What have you built or designed before where you had the responsibility? HYSYS is easy, have you done this in the real world?
- Reasoning by first principles: Can you deconvolute complex scenarios into their foundational truths or parts?
- Urgency: We don't have time to wait, are you comfortable with a high-degree of risk and pressure to move fast?
- Grit: How relentless will you be despite set-backs? We're going up against some big opposition.
