Job Title: Criminology Graduate

Academics Ltd is seeking a Criminology Graduate to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant

We are a unique mental health school in Thatcham, West Berkshire, dedicated to providing a therapeutic approach to education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex mental health needs, helping them to develop resilience and achieve their academic potential.

The ideal candidate will have a Criminology degree and a passion for working with vulnerable children. You will be responsible for mentoring and guiding students, helping them to manage their behavior and develop positive relationships with their peers and teachers.

You will work closely with our experienced team of teachers, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to ensure the safety and well-being of each student. As a Criminology Graduate, you will be able to utilize your knowledge to help understand the behavior of the students, identify triggers for negative behavior, and develop strategies to support their learning.

This is a long-term role, offering a competitive daily rate of £80-£90. If you are a motivated and caring individual with a passion for working with children, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with complex mental health needs
  • Mentor and guide students to develop positive relationships and behavior
  • Work closely with the teaching team to develop and implement individual learning plans
  • Identify triggers for negative behavior and develop strategies to support student learning
  • Collaborate with speech therapists and occupational therapists to ensure the safety and well-being of each student

Requirements:

  • Criminology degree
  • Passion for working with vulnerable children
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
