Learning Support Assistant Opportunity

A unique mental health school in Thatcham is seeking a Criminology Graduate to join their team as a Learning Support Assistant. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work with children who suffer from childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, attachment disorders, and PTSD.

The ideal candidate will be bubbly and outgoing, with a passion to help vulnerable children. A Criminology or Psychology graduate would be perfect for this role.

As a Criminology Graduate, you will be able to utilize knowledge from your degree to help understand the behavior of the students, identify triggers that lead to negative behavior, and learn de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts or challenging behavior.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with children who are vulnerable to criminal influence
  • Help mentor and guide students through the school day
  • Ensure students are emotionally and therapeutically supported
  • Identify and address learning challenges
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students
Requirements:
  • Criminology or Psychology degree
  • Passion for working with vulnerable children
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
