Volunteer Driver Role Overview

We are seeking motivated individuals to support our client group on their journey to recovery by providing transportation to and from our SHARP programme.

The SHARP programme is a community-based rehabilitation service for individuals with alcohol or drug addictions. Our volunteer drivers will use their own vehicles to transport clients to and from the programme and their home addresses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrive on time to collect and return clients
  • Drive safely and within the highway code
  • Ensure the vehicle meets all relevant legal and safety standards

We offer a competitive mileage rate of 45p per mile and a full induction into our team, including training on organisational awareness, data protection, health and safety, equality and diversity, health and wellbeing, and safeguarding.

Requirements

  • A clean, relevant driving licence
  • Awareness of health and safety issues
  • Knowledge of local roads and geography
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
