Amentum is a leading provider of technical and engineering services. We are currently seeking a Nuclear Decommissioning Technician to join our team in Aldermaston.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing day-to-day nuclear decommissioning activities associated with projects. This will involve wearing RPE equipment, respirators, and Pressurised Breathing Air Suits while operating tooling to size reduce and decontaminate plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate cutting, lifting, and handheld tooling, band saws, nibblers, reciprocating saws, etc.
  • Undertake size reduction, dismantling, and decontamination of plant and equipment.
  • Carry out waste processing duties.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards before, during, and after any operational tasks.
  • Perform tasks involving the use/wear of RPE, PBAS, and Respirators following training.
  • Undertake glovebox work in support of decommissioning activities.
  • Assist in the construction of modular containment systems.
  • Comply with all rules, regulations, permit systems, and safety requirements in force for the project.
Requirements:
  • Ideal candidates will have previous nuclear decommissioning experience, but full training will be provided to successful candidates.
  • Candidates must have resided in the UK for at least 5 years.
  • Security Clearance (SC) or the ability to obtain SC and DV is required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing.
