Senior Security Specialist

Tesco Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our Vulnerability Management and Pentesting team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated security-focused engineer to contribute to our expanding organisation.
The role involves being hands-on with a focus on the availability and reliability of critical security tooling, while automating operational burden. You will provide actionable insight into the security posture of our systems and platforms, prioritizing remediation activities for engineering colleagues and system owners.
As a senior position, you will have the freedom to leverage your knowledge and real-world experience to work with other teams and drive innovation across our prevention, detection, and response capabilities.
When major security incidents occur, you will work alongside other security colleagues to bring your experience to the table.
Key Responsibilities- Build detection, data correlation, and response capabilities in the Vulnerability Management space.
- Create tooling and reporting to manage our external attack surface.
- Develop a range of capabilities to inform stakeholders on the status and progress of Vulnerability Management remediation efforts.
- Automate integrations between platforms and tooling.
- Contribute to our internal detection engineering programme using observations from security incidents and reporting on relevant security threats.
- Upskill analysts in Vulnerability Management and identify patterns and issues that can be fixed centrally.
- Perform POC assessments from our active Bug Bounty Program.
- ~5+ years of experience working in the IT Security Industry
- ~ Experience with responding to security incidents in large-scale corporate environments
- ~ A good understanding of Bug Bounty programmes
- ~ Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language
- ~ Solid understanding of networking, web services, and application testing
- ~ Experience with Vulnerability Scanning tools
- ~ Keen to cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and bringing industry standards to everything we do
- ~ Proactive and able to operate independently
- ~ Comfortable with ambiguity
- ~ Resilient and able to take ownership of seeing issues through to resolution
- ~ Passion for technology and ability to share that passion with others
