Job Title: Innovative Learning Leader

We are looking for a skilled and experienced educator to lead innovative learning experiences as an Innovative Learning Leader in Carlisle.

About the Role:

  • This is a temporary position, working 16 hours per week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with a competitive hourly pay rate of £20.50 based on the Further Education and Training specification.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students in Programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop engaging lessons that meet the Further Education and Training specification in Programming, focusing on innovative methods and approaches.
  2. Student Support: Use the College's online systems to track progress and attendance, and provide regular feedback and support to students, promoting their academic success.
  3. Assessment and Evaluation: Set and monitor challenging homework, and use quality assurance procedures to ensure excellent student outcomes, driving continuous improvement.
  4. Collaboration and Communication: Attend meetings and training days, collaborating with colleagues to achieve departmental goals, and share best practices in teaching and learning.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in the Further Education and Training sector.
  • A UK recognised teaching qualification (DTLLS, PCET, PGCE or QCF Level 5 Diploma in Education).
  • Previous experience working as a Lecturer or Teacher, with a successful record in retention and achievement.
  • A Level 3 or above qualification in Programming, and GCSEs in both Maths and English at grade A-C or equivalent.
  • A valid DBS registration, or willingness to apply for a new one.
