About the Role

CK Group is seeking a highly skilled Lab Analyst to join their team in the Clinical Research industry. This is a contract position based on-site in Livingston, West Lothian, and will initially last for 6 months.

Our client is a global Contract Research Organization (CRO) dedicated to driving healthcare forward and improving patient outcomes. They are a leading provider of laboratory services and are committed to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in troubleshooting and process improvements to increase data quality, lower costs, or reduce turnaround times. This includes updating standard procedures and assisting with troubleshooting.
  • Act as a technical resource for laboratory staff and support the team in the absence of the line manager.
  • Perform routine data analysis to determine if an analytical procedure is proceeding according to expectations and that the results are within acceptable tolerances.
  • Identify and document potential performance errors or unusual results and escalate to senior lab personnel.
  • Prepare data analysis results for upload to the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) under the guidance of senior-level staff.
  • Contribute to Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations, deviations, and resolution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some CAP/CLIA lab locations may require a BSc in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology.
  • Previous working experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
  • Proficiency with routine and some non-routine laboratory calculations regarding batches and specimens, including averages, means, standard deviations, and various quality control metrics.
  • Good computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
