About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Structure Engineer to join our team at Ringway Jacobs. As a key member of our structures service, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing structural maintenance and refurbishment on highway structures.

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for managing bridge data, emergency call-outs, NRSWA compliance, and budget control while mentoring junior staff. Your expertise in structural design codes, DMRB, MCHW, and CDM regulations will be essential in delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, including Construction (Design & Management) Regulations, and implement policies and procedures to minimize work-related injuries.
  2. Design Management: Manage design projects in a positive and constructive manner, with the aim of delivering high-quality results while minimizing costs.
  3. Project Planning and Delivery: Prepare design, planning, and programme highway structures works and services, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  4. Expert Advice and Guidance: Offer advice and expertise in the delivery of work based on engineering knowledge and experience, providing timely and accurate advice to stakeholders as required.
  5. Understanding of Company Objectives: Understand the overall functions, aims, and directions of Ringway Jacobs, and how the structures service fits into those objectives.
About You
  1. Design Knowledge: Possess knowledge and application of Eurocodes and modern standards, including DMRB.
  2. Health and Safety Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of Health and Safety legislation, including Construction (Design & Management) Regulations.
  3. Communication Skills: Be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with people both internally and with supply chain partners.
  4. Driving Licence: Hold a valid driving licence, as site visits will be required.
