Financial Controller

Join our team as a Financial Controller at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa, a leading destination hotel near Skipton on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the strategic financial direction of the company and leading all operational finance-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Directors in developing and implementing financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
- Lead the finance team in preparing and presenting financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and management accounts.
- Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to monitor and manage external contracts, services, and products provided by suppliers to ensure best value for the company.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide financial guidance and support to the Directors and management team to enable them to make informed business decisions.
- Proven experience in senior finance roles within the hospitality industry, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Relevant accounting qualifications, such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa is a family-run, privately owned organization founded in 1969 by the Bannister family. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and take great pleasure in building relationships with our guests. Our 1,400-acre estate boasts 70 bedrooms, two luxury self-catering cottages, The View Restaurant, Macleod's Bar, and a Five-Bubble rated spa, as well as an array of on-site activities.

We are also recognized as a leading wedding and private events venue in our region, with a tailor-made offering from an intimate barn ceremony to a magnificent marquee reception, as well as a range of picture-perfect outside locations.
