Parke Lane People is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join their Group Finance team in High Wycombe. Reporting into the Finance Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and validating significant transactions, approving journal entries, and ensuring timely completion of financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Approve journal entries to ensure accuracy and valid business purpose.
  • Ensure timely completion and upload of financial statements to the consolidation system.
  • Perform SOX review of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Review and validate financial statements to identify errors, omissions, or misstatements.
  • Collaborate with country finance and accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of period-end close processes.
  • Assess emerging issues or significant business transactions for accounting implications and communicate in a clear and timely manner.
  • Manage the production of annual financial statements for UK Holding companies in compliance with FRS102.
  • Manage the audit process to ensure successful and timely completion.
  • Manage the filing process to ensure timely and compliant submission to Companies House.
  • Support the US Tax department with information and analysis as required.
  • Manage the support provided to the UK tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate submission of holding companies tax returns.
  • Supervise and mentor a small team.
  • Drive process improvement in processes, procedures, and controls.

Requirements:

  • Qualified with previous experience in a similar Financial Controller role, ideally within a US owned international group.
  • Skills in multi-currency transactions, staff management, month & year end close, process improvement, and technical strength with GAAP, SOX, and consolidations.
  • Strong database management, systems, and Excel skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, building relationships.
