We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of our waste transfer station and oil treatment plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective running of the facility, as well as driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with environmental and health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Health and Safety: Ensure all site activities are compliant with environmental permits and health and safety requirements, investigate and promote the reporting of near misses, and create a safe working environment for all site users.
- Operations: Evaluate and monitor operational performance, work closely with the transport team and external third parties to ensure timely acceptance of loads, coordinate on-site operational projects, and manage asset maintenance and safety critical equipment.
- Commercial: Responsible for the operational P&L, delivery of operating targets, and ensuring the financial performance of the facility.
- Leadership: Develop a high-performing team culture, provide strong leadership for the operations team, set clear objectives and targets, and manage the performance and development of employees.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification
- WAMITAB COTC Hazardous Waste Treatment and Transfer level 4
- Experience working in the waste industry, with a proactive and safety-focused approach
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop effective working relationships, and a commitment to delivering results and objectives
