Job Title: Family Support and Bereavement Senior Practitioner

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support and Bereavement Senior Practitioner to join our team at Mary Ann Evans Hospice. As a key member of our Family Support and Bereavement team, you will provide emotional support to adults and children who are experiencing bereavement or pre-bereavement, utilizing a person-centred approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one emotional support sessions for adults and children who require support with a bereavement or pre-bereavement.
  • Facilitate group support sessions for adults and children.
  • Assess new clients to understand their needs and allocate them to the most suitable support service.
  • Provide ongoing supervision and training to volunteers.
  • Assist the Family Support and Bereavement Services Team Lead in ensuring all relevant data is collated, analysed, and distributed as required.
  • Support the development of the Family Support and Bereavement Services team to ensure the service stays sustainable, efficient, and safe.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with adults and children in a health, social, therapeutic, or education setting.
  • An interest in bereavement support theory and practice.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and PC skills.
  • Empathetic approach and ability to facilitate support groups.
  • Use of person-centred principles in a therapeutic environment.
  • Ability to build a safe, honest, open environment and rapport with clients.
  • Excellent oral and written, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
