Procurement Manager Job Description

Barclay Meade is seeking a skilled Procurement Manager to lead all strategic and operational procurement activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a spend of c£30M and will lead a small team of Buyers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute procurement and supplier management strategies
  • Negotiate and manage contractual agreements with suppliers
  • Conduct tendering and front-end sourcing activities
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers
  • Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity of supply
  • Set operational procurement parameters and manage supply chain against OTD/OTIF metrics
  • Optimize inventory levels through the use of ERP systems and LEAN methodologies
  • Contribute to broader site supply chain planning and commercial activities

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the procurement of raw materials in industries such as Food, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, or Cosmetics
  • Strategic procurement expertise, including tendering, negotiations, category management, and contract management
  • Operational procurement and materials experience, including inventory management, MRP, ERP, and materials planning
  • Ability to manage a small team and partner with stakeholders to drive change and improve processes
