About the Role

The Consultancy Group (London) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Payroll Programme Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the governance, discovery, design, and implementation of complex payroll projects and programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Global Payroll Assessment: Conduct a comprehensive review of global payroll operations to identify strengths, opportunities, and risks. Map payroll regulatory requirements, tax laws, and labor regulations across different countries.
  • Develop a Global Payroll Strategy: In partnership with Finance and HR Operations, create a global payroll strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Manage End-to-End Implementation: Oversee the full implementation of global payroll programs, including project planning, resource allocation, and timeline management, ensuring integration with HR and finance systems.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with HR, finance, legal, IT, and external vendors to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment across departments.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure adherence to local tax laws, labor regulations, and data privacy requirements in all operating countries, managing payroll-related risks such as data security and accuracy.
  • Optimize Payroll Processes: Identify opportunities to streamline payroll operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs through automation, standardization, and technology optimization.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with payroll service providers and other vendors, collaborating with Procurement on contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Manage Change Processes: Lead the change management process for new payroll systems or procedures, including communication, training, and user adoption.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be from a Consulting background
  • Professional qualification in Portfolio or Programme Management (e.g., MSP) is desirable.
  • Experience with HR systems like ServiceNow and Oracle is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale, complex business and technical programmes from inception to completion on a global scale.
  • Strong knowledge of Payroll, HCM, and ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle) and experience with data/integration projects.
  • Expertise in payroll processes, regulations, and compliance requirements across multiple countries or regions, including tax laws, labor regulations, and data privacy standards.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills for assessing compliance requirements, identifying risks, and implementing effective controls.
