Join a reputable housebuilder in Whiteley, Hampshire, as a Town Planner. This role involves securing planning permissions for various projects, ranging from unique bespoke developments to large-scale schemes exceeding 1,000 units, contributing to long-term local regeneration efforts and offering a wide variety of project opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take responsibility for the planning process across all stages, from site inspection through to receipt of planning permissions, reporting to the director of the department
  • Create and manage planning applications, conditions, and appeal documents for local authority submissions
  • Conduct research on previous planning applications for sites, as necessary
  • Accurate record keeping for internal systems and local authority planning policies and plan reviews
  • Represent the business at planning and consultation meetings
  • Keep up to date with local planning policies and strategies across transport, green infrastructure, renewable energy, local economy, jobs, climate change, and more.
  • Obtain and negotiate quotes from consultants and external engineers
  • Liaise with the wider planning team on relevant issues.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally within the local region
  • Experience in addressing the general public as well as council officers and committee members in a public forum
  • Knowledge and experience in the planning processes and associated regulations
  • Planning or Surveying Degree or above or equivalent is desirable
  • MRTPI, MRICS or RIBA is desirable.
What We Offer:
  • Salary ranging between £28,000 - £32,000 DOE + mileage
  • Days annual leave plus bank holidays, depending on seniority
  • Christmas shutdown (allocation from annual leave)
  • Office hours of 9am - 5pm
