About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Town Planner to join our Planning team at Hunter Dunning Limited. As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in obtaining planning permissions for a range of projects, from unique bespoke developments to large-scale schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for the planning process across all stages, from site inspection through to receipt of planning permissions, reporting to the director of the department
  • Create and manage planning applications, conditions, and appeal documents for local authority submissions
  • Conduct research on previous planning applications for sites, as necessary
  • Accurate record keeping for internal systems and local authority planning policies and plan reviews
  • Represent the business at planning and consultation meetings
  • Keep up to date with local planning policies and strategies across transport, green infrastructure, renewable energy, local economy, jobs, climate change, and more
  • Obtain and negotiate quotes from consultants and external engineers
  • Liaise with the wider planning team on relevant issues
Requirements
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally within the local region
  • Experience in addressing the general public as well as council officers and committee members in a public forum
  • Knowledge and experience in the planning processes and associated regulations
  • Planning or Surveying Degree or above or equivalent is desirable
  • MRTPI, MRICS or RIBA is desirable
What We Offer
  • Salary ranging between £40,000 - £60,000 DOE + mileage
  • Up to 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
