Job Title: Building Maintenance Controller

Workshop Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Building Maintenance Controller to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for allocating resources and scheduling appointments to ensure efficient and effective delivery of building maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work closely with other Resource Controllers to ensure efficient resourcing of appointments and provide cover for colleagues in periods of absence.
  2. Schedule repair appointments based on operative skills, availability, and locality to minimize travel time and idle time.
  3. Plan ahead for future appointments, identifying potential issues and raising concerns with the Lead Resource Controller.
  4. Monitor job management system screens to ensure timely action is taken on jobs requiring attention.
  5. Oversee operative screens to ensure efficient arrival at next jobs.
  6. Understand the end-to-end process of delivering perfect repairs and key responsibilities in achieving this.
  7. Escalate issues or queries to line managers for resolution.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in operational or logistical resourcing roles is ideal.
  2. Ability to work in a dynamic environment, remaining calm and professional under pressure.
  3. Effective communication skills to interact with the workforce and stakeholders.
  4. Organizational skills to prioritize and schedule jobs to meet appointments.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office and job management systems.
  6. Basic knowledge of building maintenance trades and tasks/activities.
  7. Understanding of the Portsmouth City area.
