Ecologist Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team in Bristol. As a Senior Ecologist, you will be responsible for leading on nationally important infrastructure projects, managing project programmes and budgets. You will collaborate with our multi-disciplinary teams and undertake stakeholder engagement. Your duties will include planning, co-ordinating and undertaking field surveys, analysing and interpreting survey results using approaches such as biodiversity net gain or natural capital. You will also design and co-ordinate ecological mitigation, author and check ecological reports and licence applications, and manage work enquiries, prepare bids and build client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Leading on nationally important infrastructure projects, managing project programmes and budgets.
Collaborating with our multi-disciplinary teams and undertaking stakeholder engagement.
Planning, co-ordinating and undertaking field surveys, analysing and interpreting survey results using approaches such as biodiversity net gain or natural capital.
Designing and co-ordinating ecological mitigation.
Authoring and checking ecological reports and licence applications.
Managing work enquiries, preparing bids and building client relationships.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Ecologist with a degree in ecology or a closely related field. You should have demonstrable ecological knowledge, either as a species specialist or generalist, and strong commercial skills. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or an application in progress is desirable. A full, clean driving licence is also required.
