">Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Teacher of Physics to join our team at Harris Academy Merton. As a member of our staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, including lesson planning, developing resources, and assessing student progress.
You will also be expected to contribute to the development of the physics department, participate in staff meetings and training sessions, and engage with parents and carers through regular communication.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and help shape their academic journey.
- To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor
- To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
- To contribute to raising standards of student attainment
- To share and support the academy's responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Teacher of Physics who holds QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree. You should have successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and of working in an 11-18 school.
You should understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning, have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and be able to work as part of a team and develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff.
A good level of ICT skills, including innovative use of interactive whiteboards, is also essential.
