We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our high-performing team, driving product strategy, managing programs, analysing performance, and leading transformation initiatives. This exceptional career opportunity brings world-renowned vehicles to life.

As a key member of our team, you'll bridge the technical and business worlds, designing vehicles that meet our customers' desires. You'll work closely with suppliers and software teams to guide them through all phases of the software development lifecycle. Your expertise in AUTOSAR architecture will be invaluable in shaping JLR's next-generation vehicle programs.

This pioneering role offers an exciting chance to contribute to delivering innovative software solutions. You'll collaborate closely with engineering development and cross-functional teams to define and deliver on the next vehicle programs.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Lead teams from application software to embedded software solutions with knowledge of autonomous system systems software design and software embedment.
  • Write work packages and detailed technical works based on user requirements, identifying and recording technical risks and assumptions made in the software development lifecycle.
  • Design systems and their components to meet defined needs, retaining compatibility with Software architectures.
  • Mentor software developers on design patterns, development best practices, and DevOps trade-offs.

What You'll Need

  • A significant amount of experience in software engineering and embedded systems.
  • Previous experience in specialist technologies, complex systems, and tools, and processes.
  • Analytical skills, including the ability to conduct complex research into new technologies and manufacturing systems and tools.
  • Significant experience of the Software Development Life Cycle and associated processes.
  • Multiple software language skills.
  • Experience in automotive engineering delivery and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach.

Salary Estimate: £90,000 - £120,000 per annum.
