About the Role

This position is fundamental to the success of our team as we launch our cutting-edge payment system. You will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer within our 2nd Line of Defence team.

The key outcomes of this role include:
  • Managing and monitoring risks associated with outsourced functions to ensure seamless service delivery for our systemically important payment system.
  • Providing regular risk management updates internally (to the CRO and CEO) and externally (to regulators), fostering strong relationships along the way.
  • Staying abreast of relevant regulations and requirements, ensuring compliance with policies applicable to Fnality and the broader industry.
  • Ongoing maintenance and improvement of the Fnality Risk System for Fnality Services and its ecosystem, including the risk model, activities, and mitigations.
  • Supporting effective risk governance within Fnality Services, working closely with other lines of defence in our three lines of defence risk management model.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Operational Resilience directives from the Bank of England as they apply to Financial Market Infrastructures and broader global standards.

Your Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:
  • Evaluating and mitigating risks associated with outsourced functions, ensuring a high level of service delivery.
  • Reporting on risk management progress to stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
  • Developing and implementing the Fnality Risk System, focusing on the risk model, activities, and mitigations.
  • Collaborating with the risk governance framework within Fnality Services, working across lines of defence.

Your Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:
  • Proven experience in financial services regulatory compliance or operational risk, preferably in a payment environment.
  • A strong understanding of relevant regulations, such as the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures and CHAPs Reference Manual.
  • Excellent risk management skills, with the ability to shape a new risk framework and potentially implement a risk management system.
  • Experience in establishing and maturing operational processes and risk management systems, adapting to evolving regulatory and business needs.
  • Strong communication skills to influence colleagues and stakeholders on risk and compliance.

What We Offer

In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary range of £90,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including remote work options, pension scheme, private medical insurance, and annual leave.
