About the Role:

As a Technical API Designer, you will collaborate with a team of talented Domain Architects, Designers, and Developers to create Awesome API Designs based on established resource and business models. You will identify gaps in API standards and data models and manage their delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop APIs that meet the needs of Aviva's business domains
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address gaps in API standards and data models
  • Develop and maintain API documentation and standards
  • Work with developers to ensure API designs are implemented correctly
  • Contribute to the development of Aviva's API strategy and roadmap

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of REST, JSON, and API Design Standards and Layered Architecture principles
  • Experience with software modeling and component design
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts, including logical and physical modeling and gap analysis
  • Knowledge of microservice architecture and database design
  • Technical experience in relevant technology stack, e.g., Java, EKS, and AWS
