Lift Engineering Manager

The National Lift Manager position is a critical role within City Facilities Management, responsible for the management and delivery of lift engineering works across the estate. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills to manage, influence, and build relationships with customers, internal teams, and approved sub-contractors.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the company in a professional manner and develop excellent working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Deliver effective management of approved contractors, ensuring effective two-way communication.
- Ensure all company and customer standards are understood and adhered to, in line with prevailing legislation.
- Collate and document relevant certification to ensure compliance.
- Provide technical support to Divisional Operations Managers, AEM, and Customer.
- Communicate underperformance on KPIs, understand action plans, and regularly review to drive improvement.
- Deal promptly with Help Desk calls, resolving issues effectively and escalating where necessary.
- Hold monthly meetings with the customer on FM activity, recording agreed actions and resolving issues.
- Compliance is critical with all City policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Recruitment & Selection, and relevant legislation.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection process of Technician vacancies, completing internal courses.
- Work in a planned and efficient way, processing relevant information through CAFM systems.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of training and technical knowledge requirements.
This role is responsible for identifying and delivering business development opportunities within the budget to fund additional services to the customer. Managing all capital plans and projects jointly with the Customer and designated Manager, ensuring they are completed to specification and within budget to optimise value and service levels.
People ResponsibilityYou are responsible for sub-contractor delivery and management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Educated to GCSE / Standard Grade level as a minimum, ideally NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/Maintenance.
- NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in Lift engineering.
- A working knowledge of the maintenance service within the FM industry is essential, with previous working knowledge of a multi-client contracted environment being desirable; and PPM and compliance background.
- Previous experience of effectively dealing with client and contractors.
- Previous experience of developing client relationships at a senior level would be advantageous.
- Strong PC literacy, with experience in extracting, collating and presenting performance data along with a good understanding of the CAFM systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation and project management skills.
