Job Title: Part-Time SEN Educational Support Worker

Salary: £12.82 - £14.85 per hour

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Preston on a part-time basis. The role involves working Monday to Friday mornings only, providing essential support to students with special educational needs (SEN).

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an SEN setting, and possess the ability to build positive relationships with students.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support students with SEN in the classroom during morning lessons.
  2. Provide 1:1 or small group assistance, helping children to engage with the curriculum and make progress.
  3. Assist the class teacher in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  4. Implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  5. Help manage behavior and encourage positive social and emotional development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an SEN setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
