The Scottish Prison Service is seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to fill the role of Residential Officer. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and secure custody of individuals within our care.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team, working in a fast-paced environment that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for providing a high level of care and support to individuals, promoting their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
Key Responsibilities- Encourage positive behaviours in individuals, promoting their engagement with rehabilitation and reintegration initiatives.
- Contribute to the prevention and constructive management of challenging and/or difficult behaviours.
- Manage individuals' case work, exercising professional judgement in responding to their needs and challenges.
- Complete all administration and communications relevant to the role, in line with local and national requirements and standards.
- Contribute to effective operational risk management, ensuring the safe and secure supervision of individuals in our care.
We are looking for individuals who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and support, with a focus on promoting rehabilitation and reintegration.
Essential qualifications and experience include:
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Experience of providing support, advice, or guidance to others.
- Experience of making a positive difference to the lives of others.
- Experience of managing challenging circumstances or behaviours.
The selection process will consist of a Situational Judgement Test, Cognitive Ability Test, Group Exercise, Written Exercise, and Interview.
