The Scottish Prison Service is seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team as Residential Officers. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and secure custody of individuals within our care.
Key Responsibilities- Encourage positive behaviors in individuals through engagement with rehabilitation and reintegration initiatives.
- Contribute to the prevention and constructive management of challenging behaviors.
- Manage individuals' case work and exercise professional judgment in responding to their needs and challenges.
- Complete all administration and communications relevant to the role, including processing and analyzing information, and producing high-quality reports.
- Contribute to effective operational risk management by ensuring the safe and secure supervision of individuals in custody.
We are looking for individuals who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people. You will also need to demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development, including undertaking formal training and qualifications to support your own learning and development, as well as the development of those in our care.
Selection MethodOur selection process will include a Situational Judgement Test, Cognitive Ability Test, Group Exercise, Written Exercise, and Interview.
