About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Process Chemist or Chemical Engineering graduate to join our small and busy chemistry team in a well-established, award-winning facility.

The role involves working on the late shift, Tuesday to Friday 12 Noon to 10.30pm, with a 4-day week but earning a full-time salary of £27,552 per annum, increasing to £29,232 after 6 months, subject to meeting performance criteria.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Process Chemist in the analysis, control, and maintenance of all wet processes/chemistry.
  • Be involved in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and processes.
  • Maintain machinery and equipment according to the maintenance schedule.
  • E nsure that water and chemical waste treatment controls are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Use documentation control systems – paper and electronic.

Requirements:

  • Preferably 2+ years of experience in a Chemist role.
  • Logical thinking and a good application of the scientific method.
  • A degree in Chemical Engineering or another Chemistry-based qualification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent data and statistical analysis skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of detail.
  • Good understanding of technical documentation.
  • The ability to work unsupervised in a Night Shift role.
