Job Overview

McLaren Group is seeking a highly skilled CFD R&D Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our CFD Methodology group, you will play a crucial role in driving the development of our CFD tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver improvements to CFD methodology and perform related R&D activities, including supporting the Aerodynamic Development and HPC teams.
  • Champion various tools used in CFD technology and develop in-depth understanding of these tools to address their limitations and push for continuous improvement.
  • Develop a high level of understanding of the other factors influencing CFD methodology and performance, including HPC hardware, software, novel numerical methods, and correlation.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a large codebase and develop a high level of understanding of aerodynamic performance development.

Requirements

  • Strong mathematical background, particularly in linear algebra, partial differential equations, and Finite volume/element/high order numerical methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of CFD modeling and expertise in at least two of the following areas: CFD solver development, CFD process automation, CFD applications.
  • Experience in using simulations tools/packages in industrial applications is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with OpenFOAM are preferred.
  • Strong coding skills in object-oriented programming languages (C++, Python, or others) and version control systems are highly desirable.
