About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hygiene Manager to join our team at the Compleat Food Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in our food production facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the hygiene team, ensuring that all cleaning schedules are adhered to and that the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work, including the development of cleaning work instructions and the maintenance of the site's hygiene manual.
  • Provide technical information and support to internal and external customers, including the management of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) documentation.
  • Assist in the management of consumables stocks, including high-care PPE and consumables.
  • Participate in the preparation for BRC and other audits, and contribute to continuous improvement project work in relation to site hygiene.
  • Carry out inspection sign-offs following the completion of process equipment cleaning and engineering maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 and 3 Food Safety and Hygiene qualifications.
  • ESOL Level 2 or equivalent.
  • HACCP Level 2 and 3 (desirable).
  • IOSH in Health and Safety principles (desirable).
  • Experience in a similar role in the food manufacturing industry, with previous people management experience (supervisory role).

Key Skills:

  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication skills and ability to give clear and detailed instructions.
  • Ability to demonstrate and describe procedures effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, coaching, and negotiating skills.
  • Continuous improvement and quality is a core value.
  • Ability to effectively build and manage relationships, as well as motivate staff.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food legislation and food safety principle essentials.
  • Understanding of microbiology testing procedures (desirable).
  • Knowledge of BRC standards and quality management systems (desirable).
